There are a lot of great places I’m hoping to go back go, as well as events or particular sites at each that I’d like to check out. I think these are all worthwhile places, events and attractions and would love to follow up on here, sharing my experiences and recommending them to others.
I’ve been to all of the destinations below, but have most recently visited Annapolis, Gettysburg and New York City. However, I’d love to go back to all of them and it would be the first time re-visiting the other destinations with a really good DSLR camera in hand.
- Annapolis / Baltimore / Havre de Grace
- Cape May
- New York City
- Washington, D.C.
I’m hearing about so many shows on and off Broadway lately that I want to see. Although I’m only listing these four at the moment, it would make a lot of trips up to NYC for me in one year. But I love it! I want to make visiting NYC a more regular part of my life. Find out more info (theater, tickets, opening and closing performances) on these shows with the quick search on the Broadway website.
- “Bronte: a Portrait of Charlotte”
- “Once” the musical
- “If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet”
- “A Christmas Story”
Who doesn’t love going to rock concerts? I can’t wait to see Bruce Springsteen early this Sept. in Philly! A few others whose concerts I’m hoping to attend include:
- Neil Young
Between taking in so much great entertainment and sightseeing, an appetite is sure to be stirred. There are so many dining establishments I’d love to check out here and there, along with regional restaurant weeks. With my interest in social media and travel, I feel like I’m becoming somewhat of a foodie and even joined Foodspotting. But travel and food go hand-in-hand of course, so why not? It reminds me of the scene in 2010’s “Eat Pray Love” when Liz Gilbert (Julia Roberts) discusses with her friend “an appetite” for good eats.
- South Street
- Peddler’s Village
- Sligo – Media, Pa.
- Shake Shack
These are just a few ideas I have for general exploring of places I love, from the big city scene to beach towns.
- Philly Phlash Tour
- Philly’s Boathouse Row
- NYC Literary Crawl
- Greenwich Village
- Lighthouses of N.J., Del., Md., Va. – Check out the maps on Lighthouse Friends
With so many great museums in NYC, Philly and other cities, there is always something interesting to see. Check out the links for more info; according to the attractions’ respective websites, most of the exhibits I mention below have limited times. Those below are just a few that I want to check out; and I’d say I’m being brave about that last one!
- Franklin Institute – Dead Sea Scrolls and (upcoming) Titanic exhibit
- Constitution Center – Bruce Springsteen exhibit
- Adventure Aquarium – Shark Week events and Megalodon exhibit
- Intrepid Museum – The Enterprise Test Shuttle
- AMNH – Spiders Alive!
Any combination of these will make for great experiences heading into the new year, as well as any others that go into next year. What places and events are on your travel list?
